Sunday - god what a stretch... #23

This is my weekend’s sandwiches.

Friday’s looks like shit because it was bought for me by my boss and then they ate at the place before bringing it back. it was the best sandwich of the weekend though.. bacon cheeseburger.

saturday’s was probably the worst sandwich i’ve ever had. not just this month but in general. it had turkey, avocado, tomato, a FUCK LOAD of lettuce (even though i asked them to be light on it) and i dunno. it was fucking gross anyway. too much lettuce and not enough anything else to possibly save the sandwich. if i wanted a salad i would’ve ordered one.

sunday… now let me just say something here - that crepe for today has some ham in there. i’m counting that as a sandwich. i know, i know. that’s a horrible horrible stretch. i do what i want. it’s my sandwich month anyway.

So I went to the doctor’s today to get some mole on my shoulder looked at. Fascinating story, I’m sure.
Anyway, the mole is fine, and the doctor took a picture of it (which was a little weird) and then sent me on my way. So my mom and I went to a place downtown called Esther’s Cafe because we know the owner and didn’t realize it.
Got a BLT w/avocado - which is strange because I have always really hated avocado. But somehow I like it now? I just found the words ‘blt with avocado’ flowing out of my mouth. I was fucking hungry anyway.
Copay for doctor - $30. Sandwich - $6. The homeless people coming in and trying to pay with the tabs from the tops of soda/beer cans - priceless.

There is a burger place that opened up today in Sugarhouse which is about ten blocks away from where I live. I wanted to go there for my sandwich today, but when I got there there was an hour and a half wait. Now apparently their burgers are supposed to be great, but I don’t feel like waiting an hour and a half for food I’ve never tried before.
So I took the train back downtown to a place called The Robin’s Nest. They always have a line at lunch time, which is always when I seem to go, but they get their food out quick enough for it to not be an issue. This time I went at around 3:30, so there was no one else there. I ordered a sandwich called The Madam which included roasted turkey breast, tomato, lettuce, melted provolone, ranch, and bacon on toasted ciabatta bread.
So… it was fucking delicious. Potentially one of the best sandwiches I’ve had this month, and that’s saying something since I can’t seem to get enough sandwich in my body.
Anyway, they gave me a free drink and free chips (both of which are my favorite kind - dr. pepper and salt and vinegar chips) and were super nice to me, so I gave them a big tip (about 40% of the price of the sandwich.. I tend to do that often) and went on my merry little way. Only half of the sandwich filled me up, so I’m hanging out at home now with the second half in my fridge.
National Sandwich month is great - this is sandwich #19.

I was going to go to Sizzler but that didn’t end up happening, so we went right across the street to Arby’s! Arby’s is great, and I know it’s kind of expensive for a ‘fast food’ chain, but I don’t care. It is so good. I (as always) got a bacon beef n cheddar with a side of red ranch, curly fries, and a dr. pepper. Best meal ever? Probably. I just don’t get how they can be so delicious and yet still somehow be something that I can experience. Kids in africa are left out, man.

Dominos has these oven baked sandwiches that are amazing. This one is a philly and is soooo good. Although they put mushrooms in it, which is a little weird.
Sandwiches! Yay!
